Well, Jaylee turned One yesterday, so I feel an urge to bragg about her. (Excuse the pride) I am amazed at how far she has come this year. I have no other child to compare her to but in my eyes she is a genius:). I love watching her learn, play, and grow.
Jaylee's Tricks:
- She holds up a finger when asked how old she is.
- She knows how to make elephant, duck, and dog noises.
- She knows where her toes, head, mouth, nose, leg, foot, hand, fingers, and tummy are.
- She can dance, clap, yawn, play peek-a-boo, stomp her feet and "shake her sillies out" on command.
- She folds her arms for prayers.
- She blows Kisses and waves Goodbye.
- She feeds herself with a spoon.
- She knows Please, All done, more, and come in sign language
- She can take her clothes, and diaper off. She loves being naked:)
- She walks very short distances, but prefers crawling
- She climbs stairs(she would climb the stairs outside our apt. all day long if I let her.)
She is at such a fun age. I love that she can communicate with me what she wants(most of the time.) She has her pointer finger out 90 percent of the time, pointing to what she wants or where she wants to go. Mike and I enjoy seeing her silly personality. She loves to let people smell her toes and giggles when they react them. She will reach for people to hold her and then shake her head no when they reach for her. She often offers to share things with us, and then pulls back and laughs histerically. She is a goon, just like her dad.
She is usually not a very cuddly child but finds just the right times to give me hugs and kisses. She's never shy about kissing her stuffed animals(especially the tiger from Uncle Allan.)
Jaylee is 19 lbs. 8 oz and about 30 inches long. Her favorite things to do are reading stories(we honestly read about 30 a day), taking baths(or showers with me), being outside, eating, and going to baby time at the library. She loves being with other children. She loves attention from others and waves as though she is Miss America in a parade whenever we are at the store to recieve that desired attention. I love her outgoing spirit and hope that it continues throughout her life.
Jaylee loves her mom, but you should see her when her dad gets home from work or school. She gets so excited and always gives him a big hug.
One of the things that amazes me most about Jaylee is her vocabulary. I'm often shocked to hear new words come out of her mouth. She seems to copy the words I say. When she says something, I am skeptical that it was really what I thought it was, and not just a coincidence, but then she repeats it to prove its authenticity. Here some of the words she says....
- Mom
- Dad --- Daaa
- Bubble--- Bubu
- Dog---Daw
- Baby--baba
- More-- Mah, mah, mah
- Ball
- Out---ouu
- I've also heard Grandma--Gaama, Grandpa-- ampa,
We sing a bunch of songs together and she remembers all the actions. For Instance... "If your happy and you know it." She claps her hands, then before I move on to the next verse she is already stomping her feet. The same thing happens with the song "Shake all your sillies out" She knows to shake her hands, then clap them, then yawn, all before I even get to the verse.
I love my princess! I feel so lucky to have her sweet spirit in my home and to have the priveledge of being her mother. She teaches me everyday. I am grateful that through the plan of salvation, I have the opportunity to be with her forever. As my dad would say, "I love her to the moon and back."
