The ocean feeds my soul.. there is something so magical about sitting on perfectly soft, white sand, watching waves chase each other onto the shore.  The relaxing sounds, beautiful views, and salty smells excite my senses that sometimes get bored of their otherwise daily routine.

Jaylee, to our complete surprise, was scared of the ocean.  She loves water, and has no fear in swimming pools, but the crashing waves robbed her of her bravery.  She did, however, love playing in the sand and collecting sea shells.

After taking in the view, the sounds put Kyson to sleep.  Maybe I should find some ocean sounds to help him sleep at home too.

We’re grateful our hotel was within a couple minutes of the beach, so we could experience a little Heaven on Earth.California 2010 201

Legoland was so fun.  The rides were built for Jaylee’s age, Kyson even got to ride on a few.  There is nothing better than seeing your kids be perfectly happy and having fun.  As frugal as I am, I’m always willing to spend money on making memories as a family.

We spent a few hours in this Aquarium. Jaylee and Kyson were fascinated by all of the different sea creatures.  Sharks were the favorite though.

It was such a fun trip, I would do it over in a second.  We love California and will miss having it just a few hours away.
