ALL of Mike’s ties were pulled down from the closet, “washed” with lotion, and left soaking wet on the floor. Jaylee was dripping with lotion. I decided that If I walked to get my camera, I would be more rational with discipline after a few seconds. So, while I hand-washed, rung out, and hung up the ties…. Jaylee cleaned our entire condo(she knew I was serious.)
Oh… and I had just checked on her a few minutes before. It’s amazing how fast mischief can happen.
I’ve never wanted to use many child locks in my home(because I want my children to have freedom in their home, and I prefer to teach them what they can’t get into, rather than lock them out) but I have been VERY temped lately.

you are an amazing mom! I've had moments like that where you think you are going to cry.
I'm with you on the child-proof locks, but I do have some under my kitchen sink because of all the household cleaners and plastic garbage bags--I didn't want to take a chance. But the rest of the house, my little one knows what he can play with and what he can't. He knows which books he can pull off the bookshelf.
Oh, and bytheyway, welcome back to Utah! I think I saw you outside your parents' home a couple of months ago as I was heading to my mom's. Sorry I didn't stop to say hello.
Brett always poses situations liek that to me, and asks how I would react. Good thinking going for the camera!
I think that child locks are one of the best things since ice cream. I wish I would have invented them. I guess it could be nice if i could just teach the kids not to get into things and if I were that patient, but heck my kids can even take the child locks off now so even those don't work. I'm at the stage where I need bigger better child locks now to keep them below 6ft and away from other dangers. If you figure out how to keep them out of stuff let me know and we'll write a book about it or something. :) Love you.
I'm with ya on the child locks:) AND you have some great stories for Jaylee's dates:) AND her kiddos! Paybacks...
