Sometimes it’s fun to just have a whole day out. So that is what we did. We drove up to trax and boarded a train. I think this was the highlight for Kyson… he’s a little obsessed right now.
Kins liked it too!
We ate lunch at the Chick Fil A in City Creek.
Spent some time walking around the grounds of the temple. We talked about my wedding day, I made them promise they would get married in the temple someday. They talked about who they want to marry in the temple. They asked questions. They watched the beautiful couples around us in their wedding dresses and tuxes. Jaylee picked the colors in her future bouquet.
With so many temples near us, I’ve been trying to go to the temple grounds with my kids once in a while. In the past month or two we have been to 3 temples(Timpanogos, SLC, and St. George) I can tell they feel the spirit there and they get excited to go inside someday. I remember going to the Provo temple grounds with my parents when I was young, and feeling the importance of the temple from them. I hope my kids receive the same testimony.
Then we went to the tabernacle and to The Church History Museum. There is a whole section devoted to children and my kids loved it!
It’s days like these that make me want my children to stay small forever. I love that they get excited to ride a train, will dress up and dance in the middle of a museum, like to hang out with me, share with me all of their unfiltered thoughts, and love life only as young children do.
