I hope they remember

I often wonder what my kids will remember about their childhood and about the me as their mother.

I hope they remember that my focus is them!  There is proof of that in my home that is very rarely clean.  I want them to know that they are more important to me then a spotless house.

I hope they remember me as a good teacher.  That I spend time trying to make learning fun!  That I take every chance I get to teach and testify to them.

I hope they remember the time I spend working with them and teaching them to work… instead of the nagging that sometimes occurs to get work to happen.

I hope they remember the fun traditions, the family room floor wrestling matches, the countless stories, the kind words, the food we make together, the after school snacks, the silly crafts, the pretend play, the candy land games, the lullabies…. not the time outs, the frustration at the end of a long day, the saying “no” (sometimes to often, sometimes not enough), the harsh words and the mistakes.

I hope they remember the love I have for them.

I hope they remember that their mom and dad are best friends and enjoy being married to each other.

I hope they remember that I love my Savior, and want them to as well.

I hope they remember that I try my very best.

I know they will remember! Just some kids have memories that change their lives at different stages. Let's hope it is earlier rather than later.

Those kids are extremely lucky, when you look at the scheme of the world, even if they don't realize what they have today.

Such cute pictures. Kyson especially looked like he was having fun. I love his smile. I am sure these kids will remember with fondness the fun times you had with them and the things you taught them. These pictures will serve as wonderful reminders. I want the same for my kids (even though they're all grown up now).
