Learning to ride

 IMG_8088

Several times this summer we tried to help Jaylee learn to ride a bike without training wheels.  She really liked to lean on one training wheel and couldn’t quite get the balance.  Then, as I was in and out of the house loading the car for a recent picnic she said “Mom, watch this.”  She picked up the neighbor’s bike and rode a few yards by her self.  I applauded, went in for more stuff, and by the time the car was packed for the picnic… she was riding around the cul-de-sac.   This is is so like Jaylee…  as soon as she has her mind made up that she can do something, it is done.  And of course, as independently as possible.

I have to say one of the best things about being a mom is watching your kids learn.  A few days later, she learned to tie a shoe, well actually a bow on a dress.  Both simple things… but I feel so proud!

Kyson and Kinsley are proud as well!  Kyson watched and cheered the whole time and Kins wants to be just like Jaylee :)
